If I knew then, what I know now...

Is there really such a thing as a missed opportunity? For whatever reason, you decided to say "NO." At that moment, the reason was valid. Whether the timing was wrong; it didn't feel right; or you just didn't want to do it. At that moment, you decided to say "NO."

Maybe just maybe, the opportunity wasn't missed...it just wasn't yours to take.

When we look back on life and think about the things we would change, we mainly focus on the negatives. "I would've had a degree by now if I had never skipped that class so much." "I would've been in the industry for 10 years now if I had just went straight to cosmetology school." "I could be living in NYC now if I went to the college I wanted to go to instead of the one 'HE' was at."

Let's flip it for a second though...

If you hadn't skipped that class, you wouldn't have landed that job that introduced you to your passion.

If you had went straight to cosmetology school, you wouldn't have the business and customer service experience that you do now that you're clients appreciate.

If you would have went to the college of your choice, you wouldn't have made those life long connections and learned those lessons that came with attending the college of "HIS" choice.

It's so easy to look back at life and see all the things you did wrong. It's even easier to get stuck focusing on the why behind those decisions. At some point, you have to find peace with the fact that at that moment, you made the right decision for you THEN. So shift your focus to NOW and to making better decisions FOR YOU.
